Hi Stampers :
Last night my Mom took a nasty slip on black ice~ She is ok BUT we spent most of last night at the ER. She really did a Bang up job on her right wrist ..
She broke in in 3 places and may have to have surgery
to put pins in her wrist to make it more stable we will get more info if she needs to have the surgery this upcoming Tuesday when we go back to the Ortho doc that set her wrist in place last night and put her in a cast .
She was in so much pain it was killing me to hear her scream when they had to set her wrist 3 times last night even with Moraphine they gave her right before didn't do a thing for the pain ..
Please if you think of her Please say a Prayer for her and I just pray her wrist will NOT need surgery .
There is a funny story with all that happened last night .. The Doc said he only had Green for my Moms Cast~ Jessie and I both said we thought Purple would be awesome :) So he went and hunted down a cast kit in purple… sooo My Mom is pimp'n a purple cast GO MOM!!
Her arm/ fingers/ wrist are very swollen( as shown in photo to compare her good hand to the bad above ) . She ended up spending the night here a my house last night so we could keep an eye on her and Just incase her wrist was to collasped ( Which it didn't Praise God!!)

Oh Dawny, sorry to hear about your Mom’s arm. I know when Mom fell several years ago now she broke her shoulder in 9 places, they never did anything with it. She was diabetic and was in the hospital with it for over a month. Prayers that it heals for your Mom without the surgery. I feel her pain! Is she left handed or right handed? I might be able to help when it comes to eating if need be.

OH MY!!!! I’m sorry that she was in so much pain and will be really uncomfortable for a while.
I live in northern Ohio and we are expected to have black ice on the roads early tomorrow morning. I’d rather have snow than that darn ice!

Dawnie I am so sorry to hear about Auntie Jude! I am in Amsterdam right now, but I am suppose to be home on the 16th. If there is anything I can do to help when I get home please let me know. She was there for me when I needed surgery on my shoulder and it breaks my heart that I can’t be there for her now! Please give her a big hug and kiss for me, and tell her I love her very much!

I will keep your mother in my prayers. When my mother broke her wrist it was in a Z – shape and she had to have what we called an erector set (because it looked like the kid’s toy)screwed into her arm in 4 places. Hopefully your mother won’t require that.

So sorry to hear about your Mom. My daughter fell playing soccer in Aug. and broke a bone in her hand – between the thumb and pointer finger. She had a cast from her shoulder to her fingertips for awhile and then from below her elbow to her fingertips. It finally came off in Nov. and fortunately she doesn’t need surgery. Will keep your Mom in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I am so sorry about your mom’s accident. My grandmother fell down one stair and broke her shoulder and foot one day. I hope she is feeling better.
