Hi Stampers:
Thank you all for your thoughts & prayers yes that was me on national TV and in new papers re: my hubby's flight from Amsterdam yesterday morning.
His flight #253 was suppose to arrive at 11:40 am yesterday morning and well then it got delayed to 11:50 am then pushed to 12:02pm after which my hubby ( Rich) called me from his cell phone just to tell me he landed then I handed the phone to jessie and she talked to him then she handed the phone back to me and he said he was getting off the plane so he had to let me go .. The chat was nothing out of sorts and didnt think nothing of it until and EMT showed up rolling a gurney in to the back to international flights ..
still not thinking any thing is wrong few mins later dogs are taken back ATF , FBI etc… were going to the back finally a young man was wheeled outwith EMT I seen his hand was bandaged and also handcuffed to the bed railing
I'm still not thinking this had anything to do with my hubbys flight seriously I thought this young man just hurt himself and no thought of a terriorist came across my mind maybe he was a demanding passenger and did something to a flight attendant finally after a couple hours and nothing again from my hubby.
My cousin Kirk /Ruthie texted and asked if Rich was home and Jessie text back and said he was not out from customs yet (2-3 hours waiting by this time ) since Kirk is a cop we thought maybe he could find out what was going on .
Sure enough CNN was already reporting on CNN web site what was going on News stations . Reporters were showing up YUP something was wrong VERY WRONG ..
1 Thing that stood out to me was the young man that did this was how calm he was and the blank stare on his face when they rolled him by us NO emotion what so ever coming from him when he was wheeled out by EMT workers .
Praise God everything turned out great BUT it could have been so terrible .
Thank you everyone that have sent me emails with your thoughts & prayers I posted a few of the links below to all the sites you seen us on.
Since we didn't get home until after 6:00pm, Christmas Day ended with us celebrating this special Christmas with my hubby having Christmas dinner (Thank you mom) and opening Christmas presents This is the BEST Christmas after all 🙂 Praise God !
After 10ish last night we stop talking phone calls from the press . CNN had Rich on last night live, every news station was calling, radio stations, Free Press ,etc ..
Seriously the phone never stopped ringing .. The funny thing is one reporter googled my name and my Stamping blog popped up so then my Cell phone was ringing
Here are some links you all shared with me 🙂 Thank you so much If you seen anymore can you post them below in the comment section please

Ohmygosh! What happened??? I didn’t have the tv on at all yesterday….off to check out your links!
At least I know your hubby is home and safe with you!!!
Oh wow!! Thank God he didn’t succeed!!!!! I love the picture of the two of you together, FINALLY, after all this mess. Why do people do these crazy things?!?!? So awful!!!
This is so unbelievable, Dawn. Jerry and I were sitting here watching the Today show just now and I looked at the tv and they were interviewing a beautiful woman and I actually said to Jerry “That looks like Dawn Griffith” and we both thought, no, it couldn’t be!!! Well, it was YOU and I am so thankful that all turned out well for you. What a homecoming. What an awesome Christmas miracle for you all. And you are beautiful!!! Enjoy having Rich home.
Hugs,Cheryl Sims
I just turned on the TV and what do I see, but you. I’m shouting at my husband that’s Dawn, that’s Dawn. So glad your hubby is ok. What a scary thing. Praise God for His protection. Wishing you and yours many happy days. Hugs from another Michigan demo.
My heart goes out to you and your family, as well as the families of all involved. I’m sure you all are so very thankful to be together again. The passengers and crew were undoubtedly being watched over on that most holy of Christmas Days. God Bless!
Oh my, I am glad everything turned out ok. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the families of this flight. Hope you and your family have a wonderful new year.
Evelyn
Dawn,
Even though we’ve never met, I feel like I know you as I check your blog daily. I can’t believe Rich (and you and Jessie) had to go through this – after everything else he has gone through. I am so happy that you are all okay and safe and sound. Hugs to you all.
Linda
God is so good! I’m so thankful for your husband’s safe return. That’s answered prayer.
oh my goodness Dawn! I am so happy your husband is safe. Hugs to all of you
I said loudly, that’s the person that has a blog and quickly went into my favorites (you are one of my favorites)and lo and behold it was true. WOW!
Hi, Dawn! I saw you on Fox News this morning! I, too, recognized your lovely face and the sound of your voice! I would have screamed out loud but my husband is still asleep! Glad your husband is home safe and sound!
Saying a silent prayer of thanks, that all on board made it safely to their homes and loved ones……Rich, Dawn and Jess, may all of God’s blessing be with you now and into the New Year!
OMG, thankfully it is all ok now. Enjoy his being home. It sure does put a different spin on our blessings..
Dawn,
I was thinking about you yesterday and didn’t have a chance to get on the computer. What a crazy experience and Christmas day you had! Thank God the terrorist’s plot failed and your husband is home safe. That just brought tears to my eyes – can’t imagine waiting for your hubby and then finding out he was in such a scary situation. I’m sure this makes him want to fight for our country even more! God Bless your husband, you, and your family. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a safe, Happy New Year!
Dawn, When I saw you on tv, I thought OMG! That’s a SU demonstator–I started saying a little prayer for you and your family. I got onto your website this morning to see if you had posted anything, and was thankful your family is safe and sound. What a blessing! God bless and give that hubby a BIG HUG & KISS!!
I hope your New Year’s Eve is less stressful!
Dawn – I follow your blog from Washington DC and I’m just so thankful that your husband and those other passengers made it home okay. God was certainly watching out for all of them. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family.
So thankful your family is together & safe. I haven’t watched any news for the past few days, so I missed seeing it all. Thanks be to God for the blessing He gave you!
I just turned on the TV this morning and a second later there you were. I had to rewind it and watch it again! You looked beautiful as always!!!
Last night my hubby had on the news while I checked out my favorite blogs and all of the sudden I heard your voice. From watching all your videos I knew it was you! I looked up and saw you and told my husband “I just read her blog! Her husband is coming home today!”
I’m so glad that everyone is okay – God is good!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and God Bless your husband for all he does for each of us!
PTL your husband is safe. As I saw you on the news, I thought, “I know her” … is that your “free” video for the day? I follow your blog daily … you are a wonderful inspiration.
So glad to know everything turned out ok. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I recognized you on the news clip shown on our local station and had to check your blog to make sure everything was okay! Glad that your husband and the plane arrived safely. Truly it was a flight that God was watching over!
OMGosh Dawn! I couldn’t believe when I saw you on our news in Milwaukee! I, like everyone else, had to check out your blog for details. I am so glad that Rich is okay and you were finally able to celebrate Christmas together.
Enough of the scary trama already!
Best Wishes!
Sharon
Dawn-I saw that face and thought “I know her-it’s our Dawn”
God is so very good- all those prayers we have offered on your husband’s behalf- HE IS FAITHFUL!!
Sue Bee
Just absolutely AMAZING!
I was right!!!! When I was watching the news and they interviewed you, I said to my hubby that looks just like the lady on one of the blogs I visit regularly. Thank GOD everyone is alright and your hubby made it home. Praise the Lord!
So thankful your husband is safe and home with you. We were watching the story last night and I thought you looked familiar and realized it was you (I have only seen your picture on your blog) I was an F/A for Delta for 18 years and the crews are very well trained for this kind of situitation. I am happy it ended well and no one was hurt. Have a Happy New Year with your family and a safe return for your husband if he has to go back after the holidays.
Just wanted to let you know that Jessie made the front page of our paper today 12-26-09. The paper is the News and Observer in Raleigh, NC. I am so sorry it took so long for your Christmas with your hubby to start. But thank God he was safe and you’re together. A Christmas blessing for sure.
Hugs,
Marybeth
Dawn, if you can find humor in all this….my Hubby and I were watching TV and I saw you and your name went blank outta my mind! Hubbie says “HEY…its the HI STAMPERS demonstrator!!!”
Thank goodness everything turned out the way it did. It truly was a Christmas miracle!
Merry Christmas Dawn! I follow your blog and you tube videos, when I saw you on CNN news I jumped up and said “OMG, I know her!” I am so glad everyone is OK, what a horrible experience!I’m glad everyone is OK.

Your picture (& Rich) made the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel also! I didn’t see you on the news, but while catching up with the papers this morning, I recognized your photo and then looked at your name! WOW! You’re truly blessed this Christmas. An angel was looking out for your hubby. All the best.
Oh my gosh! I never connected the flight with you and your family. I am so glad that your husband arrived home with you safely. What a blessing for you. Cherish every day with him.
Dawn, so glad things turned out fine! My husbands nephew and his wife were also on that flight! We heard about it from my husbands sister after talking to her son! Praise God indeed!
Ilene B.
Oh Dawn! This is so incredible! God certainly WAS watching over you and I am so glad you are all together safe and sound!!! Like everyone else…never met you but feel you are a friend and care about you and your family. Have a wonderful time together and if you ever let go of him, know that we are watching!
You are all in my prayers, Dawn. What an incredible story. It is at times like this that we truly realize God’s presence in our lives. I am so happy that you are all together and safe and that you can spend time together enjoying life’s blessings. Thinking of you.
So thankful everyone is safe! The Lord was watching over everyone for sure! This gives me goosebumps everytime I read it! I’m happy your husband is home, SAFE with you and your daughter (and doggie too)!
Hi Dawn, I just read your blog today (Dec, 26) and was shocked at what you had to go through on Christmas day. I had seen news stories about that incident but I didn’t see you interviewed so I had no idea that your husband was on that flight. I come to your blog every day from Ontario, Canada and my husband also recognizes your voice and your famous greeting of “Hi Stampers!” I’m so thankful that everything turned out great for your family. God bless you all.
Trish
Thank God your husband is ok! We had company all day yesterday Christmas day and never once turned on the TV or even listen to the radio. I turned on the pc today and the first thing I see on yahoo.com is this news and thought of you right away. How scary for you all and the rest of the passengers. Thankfully you’ll get to spend the rest of the Christmas holiday with your husband and daughter, all healthy and happy. Merry Christmas!
OMG, Dawn! I am so glad to hear that Rich is home safe with you and Jessie. I didn’t watch the news yesterday and had no idea. God was with your family yesterday! Merry Christmas. Hold your loved ones close.
Thank God everything is okay: Rich and the other passengers are safe, and the attempt was foiled. Praise the Lord!
Hugs and prayers for everyone involved… although everything ended up okay, it still must have been a terrifying ordeal to go through.
Christmas blessings,
Renee
So glad he is home safe and sound with you. Makes you feel even more blessed. Isn’t God wonderful, he was watching over him. It will make the time you have while he is home even more special. So thankful everything turned out well for you and your family.
Dawn I can’t imagine how you were feeling at the airport waiting and then realizing something was very wrong. I saw it on the news last night, but didn’t see your interview. Praise God for your joyous reunion. What a special Christmas for all of you. I’m so glad Rich and all the passengers and staff arrived safely. Thanking God for watching over all of you.
Christmas Blessings and Hugs, Konnie
OMG….I wasn’t on the computer all day and didn’t listen to the news until after my daughter left for the day I checked emails and yahoo had a story about someone letting of a firecracker…I closed up my email and went to bed. I received your blog update this morning and omg your hubby was on that plane….thank goodness everything turned out okay!!! Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Enjoy the rest of his stay..
Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year!!!
Inky Hugs,

Dear Dawn,
I had kept the tv off during Christmas so I hadn’t seen the news. This morning I woke up with a little headache so I headed down to get the ice pack and plunked down on the couch. Grabbed the clicker with the thought of catching up on news and THERE YOU WERE! I will take some time to go through your links and read additional comments. Thankful your husband, other passengers and crew are safe. God allows some awesome experiences as we walk toward our destiny. Enjoy your Christmas with family and friends, lorijane
The only excitement here was a blizzard that never really happened. Everything was canceled for a big pile of SLUSH! Chat again soon!
So glad everything ended up OK. When I saw you on TV my first thought was there was some mix up in the video world and you were going to start with Hi Stampers! Couldn’t believe your husband was on the flight. A Merry Christmas for sure that everyone got off safely!
What a scary thing!!! I was so shocked first off to see you on the news from having visited your blog and watching your videos and then realizing that you were waiting for your hubby for Christmas. How grateful you must be to have him home to celebrate and that it’s just not over there that terror exists!!!
Merry Christmas to you all.
So glad to hear that all is okay. I saw you all the way from Canada!! I pointed at the tv and said “that’s dawn!!” my husband thought I was nuts! LOL
A merry christmas to you and family – I am glad you are all safe!!

Dear Dawn,
I found your web site last month and LOVE IT! Your projects are great but I love even more your attitude as you share with us. You have a giving heart. Yesterday I spent hours watching many of your videos (it was fun!). Then I went to the kitchen where my uncle was watching the news and I saw you! He did not seem to believe me when I told him I know you (we are in New York City). I am happy for you and your family. You will always remember this Christmas!
I thank God for your life.
Yikes, Dawn, how scary! I’m so glad your hubby is safe.
Dawn – I signed on to my computer and was going through some photos related to the incident in Detroit and saw a photo on AOL that looked like a picture of Jessie. Once I went on to your site, I learned that it WAS her! Thank God your husband and all the other passengers are safe! Have a blessed time with your family this season.
So I was watching the news and low and behold you come on the TV for an interview. I told my daughter that I know that lady, and I follow her blog. I thought that it was you, and once I heard your voice I was certain, as I have watched endless videos of you demonstrating techniques. It truly is a small world. Glad your hubby made it home safe and sound. Merry Christmas.
Good Ms. Dawn – I saw mention of something happening yesterday but never put two and two together until I read your post. Praise God that everything turned out okay. Hug him tight!
Hey Girl
You had an exciting Christmas I must say. A Christmas ya’ll won’t forget. Saw you and Rich on WGN(Chicago) I yelled to husband, that’s Dawn, her husband was to come home for Christmas. After hearing what it was all about, I said I bet you were a nervous reck waiting for him. Thank goodness he is safe and God sure was with him. Enjoy the Holidays and be safe. My thoughts are with you.
Love,Lois
Dawn,
Oh my goodness, the TV was not on yesterday at all. Did not know of any of this until I checked your blog site this afternoon. I am so thankful along with everyone else that this attempted attack was quickly subdued and all of the passengers deplaned safely. I can only imagine how frighting all of this was. Yes, Praise God for his mercy and protection.

Oh Dawn, how frightening. I am so glad that your husband and everyone else on the plane made it off safely.
OMG Dawn.I told a friend this morning – someone you love is going to get hurt if we don’t wake up to what is happening to us in this country and our attitudes on terror. And then my friend Mo told me your husband was on the plane. I am so glad he is okay, and that passengers are so brave. I’m outraged that this happened and so glad everyone is safe.
I came over from Jeannie’ World…
I am so happy your husband is safe!!!
Praising God from Whom all blessings flow!! My first thought when I saw you was, “Oh, that’s my friend Dawn!” Then I remembered we’ve never met or even talked, yet I know your voice and many things about you and your family. Most importantly, I know we are sisters in Christ. And I thank Him for protecting Rich and others on that plane!
Praise the Good Lord Jesus! I saw a yahoo article about the flight and also new Rich was on his way home, but had no idea until this morning that he was on that flight! I think the good Lord was watching out for him, you and all of the others on that flight! The passenger(s) that subdued this man are true heros! Dawn I am praising God for sparing you and your loved ones, what could have been absolute horror to you. You know the funny thing is that with all of the video’s your name is the only one they put on the screen….did you notice that? Thank you for all you do and I am so happy to know that your dh is o.k. I hope Jessie is o.k. from all of this too! Big Love, Hugs and Prayers for you and your loved ones. Hugs Lori

Dear Dawn & family,
With all of the hub-bub of Christmas around here, I missed most of the TV coverage and wasn’t aware of your family’s scare until I checked on my e-mail.
THANK GOD ALL IS WELL.
But what a terrifying time for all of you. And yes, it did turn out to be a wonderful Christmas for you and one that you won’t likely forget.
Pat
As one of your loyal blog readers here in Germany, I am so shocked and likewise happs that all of are safe. Thank God!
Dawn,
I receive your email daily and was surprised to see that your husband was on the plane from Amsterdam that had a terrorist on board. I am so glad your husband and all the passagers of flight 253 are safe and back home with family. It is a strage world we live in. I hope and pray that some day we all can live in harmony.
See how much you guys are loved??? Answered prayer!!! – who could deny it?
I was watching NBC news, and I thought “I have seen that woman before.” Then when you started talking, I said “Hey, that’s a Stampin’ Up! lady. I go to her blog all the time!”
Sitting here in the Uk I said to my husband I know who that is and came into my craftroom and brought up your site. Thank goodness that everyone including your husband is safe. We are flying Continental Airlines in March to the States and am now a little apprehensive.
Again thank the Lord that the imbicile sorry if I offend anyone did NOT complete what he set out to do.
I just wanted to write and tell you I saw you in my local paper all the way in Yonkers, NY. I am so happy that your husband is OK after the ordeal on the flight. What a terrible thing to happen! I am glad everything worked out and everyone was fine. I can’t image a scarier thing happening to someone you love.
If you’d like I can send you the article, please forward me your address.
Dawn, WOW, THANK GOD everything turned out o.k. That must have been so scary for you all. I’m glad your husband and everyone else was safe. What a shame the things that are going on. When is it going to stop?
I was watching Fox News last night with my husband and the moment I saw you and heard your voice, I knew it was you. I told my husband, “I know her”! She’s the “Hey there Stampers” lady. ;o)
Dawn, I am so glad to know that your husband is safe at home where he should be. Most importantly that God protected all those on board and prevented another act of terror. From my home to yours, blessings to you and your family.

I follow your blog faithfully but because of the holidays I haven’t had time to check any blogs for a few days. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Dawn,
We had the TV on for all of 3 minutes and and there you were. I was thinking to myself was that Dawn? Oh no I know you wrote that hubby was coming home and then my heart fell. I am so glad you posted and everyone is OK.
PRAISE GOD DAWN!!! My husband was just telling me about what happened and then I read how you and your family were involved. I can not even imagine what you went through!!! It truely is a MIRACLE…everything happens for a reason, hopefully the people involved will learn from this horrible mistake and it will save lives in the future!!! I am so so so very happy everything turned out okay for you and your husband. How awful someone like your husband, who risks his life to protect America cant even fly safely on an airplane!!! I pray that will somehow, someday change!
Please thank your husband for me and my family for all he does to protect us!!!
God bless you and your family!
Giant hugs,

I saw the newscast yesterday and am so thankful Rich was not hurt or injured. Doesn’t it pay to know Jesus as your saviour and have his protecting hand on your family at all times.
Christmas IS the time of Miracles and Blessings. You have truly been blessed with this Christmas Miracle. Much love and many hugs to you and your family.
Dawn & Family,
God was with you all during this time and we have nothing but PRAISES going up to Him for keeping your hubby and the other passengers safe. I saw this on the news a couple of days ago but didn’t connect the 2 until a friend told me to check out your blog. PRAISE GOD your hubby is home and safe!!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’m so happy that this story had a “happy” ending.
Merry Merry
OMG!! I’m praising God that your hubby and all the other passengers made it home safely! How scary!! You did, indeed, receive a Christmas miracle!!
Dawn, Jessie, and Rich . . . I found myself in tears, as I was reading your post and watching the news clips! I’m grateful that what that man intended to do, didn’t happen as he’d planned. I can only imagine how special Christmas was this year . . . thank goodness for the little angel that was aboard that plane, to watch out for all the passengers.
Happy Holiday Griffith’s!
Wow – that’s craZie! Thank goodness everyone is safe!
Did they interview you? I was watching TV here in good ol Utah and saw someone being interviewed and I thought to myself that looks like Dawn from my internet blog obsession! crazy that it really could have been. Thanks for all your posts you are an inspiration!
So glad your husband is ok!! Just learned of your husband being on that flight from, of all places, the Cricut Message Boards. I haven’t been online much lately and missed this news about what all your family went through over the holidays. I probably saw you on the news and didn’t even connect it upstairs in my little pea brain!!
I was over on the Cricut Message Boards a few minutes ago (Stretch Your Imagination thread), looking at a card someone made and gave you credit for the idea—and then she went on to mention the news about your husband being on that flight.
Praise the Lord this had an ending where everyone lived.
oops, sorry—it was the Plantin Schoolbook thread where I saw your news (on Circut Message Boards)! Gosh, I don’t even know where I was 5 minutes ago (not good) 🙂

Dawn,
I was a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines for nearly all of my adult life (recently retired) and had many many trips from the US to Amsterdam and back. I can very realisticly imagine what the passengers (and crew)must have experienced onboard your husband’s flight. I thank God that he and all the others are safe. What a nightmare!
God bless you and your Christmas miracle. Happy New Year!
Teary eyed reading this… God Blesses our Troops and I am SO glad he does!!!!
Military people past and present are SO special, I thank God daily for their existence…. God Bless you and your family and What a WONDERFUL Christmas Gift He gave to you!!!!!

Dawn…interesting to see you on TV and hear hubby on radio, though sorry for the event that made it possible. Your descriptions of this experience were quite awesome. Thanks to God for seeing after you and all on the plane. What a wake-up call to airline security in ALL countries. Richard sounded very knowledgeable in his radio interview with WWJ 950.
I was taken with the fact that the man responsible for this horrendous act had no expression on his face as you noted while he was wheeled passed you. I wonder if he drugged himself just prior to this act?
Safe journey back to Iraq for your hubby. What a nice gift for Jessie to have the two of you redo her room. Very pretty!!
Very best to you all! Happy New Year!
Dawn, I read your blog regularly but somehow missed this post until today. Thank God your husband is safe and sound. I’ve thought about this event so many times since it happened and wondered how the passengers must feel to know that something so terrible was so close to reality. I’m so thankful it didn’t have a different ending. God bless you all!
