Happy Sunday friends !
What a awesome time we had at our Glitter Queens retreat last weekend . I had intentions to share more last Sunday but Friday and Saturday we seriously didn't go to bed until wee hours in the morning and then Sunday morning came and we had another jammed packed day before the girls headed home .
I have a lot of photos posted HERE but thought I would share a few here with you .
Late night stamping and of course eating a bunch of yummy goodies . We all admitted that the weekend was the time we all were off our reg "good" eating habits with Double Chocolate fudge cake / Cheese Cake and so much more .
Here is Davette taking a bite of the chocolate cake .
Must admit I had never heard of this Jalapeno jam ( have you?) but lets just say I think we could have ate the whole jar that night it was so good.
Davette added the cream cheese to the jam on a cracker OH MY GOODNESS… We seriously couldn't stop eating… then the cream cheese ran out LOL!
Friday night we had our shoe box swap and then Saturday I filmed all the girls making their shoe box swap… sorry those videos are only for my Glitter Queens Team …. but below are the photos of their shoe box swaps ( awesome !)
I swear making the videos are so much fun we even had a blooper video hilarious ! I love these ladies . Friday night I also had another card challenge like last year which I called the "limited supply challenge" the week before the event I post questions to our private FB page and I asked each one of them what their
favorite ( certain item ) was
Dee her current favorite stamp set was
- which was Watercolored Wings
Davette I asked her favorite color card stock ?
- which was Pool Party and Elegant Eggplant
Kris I asked her for her favorite Framelit or punch?
- which was Itty Bitty Accents punch pack
Stacey I asked which her favorite accessory was?
- Which was Basic Rhinestones
I am not sure if they remember this challenge from last year but I brought all the supplies out that they picked PLUS a few of my favorites to help them design their card's I added :
- Bold Butterfly Framlits # 138135
- Butterflies Thinlits # 137360
- Whisper white card stock b# 100730
After everyone finished I took photos of their beautiful cards and unlike last year when I had my hubby judge and pick his favorite,
I uploaded them all to our Team FB page and had them all vote with a poll on their Favorite
- Dee won the challenge .
Friday night we also had a share fair where I shared a few tips and we also made a Christmas tag/ card candy .
Saturday we filmed everyone's shoe box swap and then we made the make & take I had planned for.
Then we headed out to dinner to Max & Erma's which was yummy too.
Then it was time for a field trip to the local Dollar Tree and Home Goods which the ladies had never been to Home Goods so that was extra fun.
Here are some of the amazing pillow gifts I received from these amazing ladies .
I had the most amazing time and the time went by so quickly .
After coming home from dinner and shopping Saturday night Stacey walks in with a new froggy friend isn't he cute ? He is so tiny.
He actually did jump out of her hands in my kitchen but she caught him and took him back outside .
We finished off our Saturday night after a fun full day of stamping making videos and shopping by jumping in the hot tub and the swimming pool .
Already planning our event for next year .
Update on my new medication Humira .
I finally got it on Wednesday . My big plan was to start on Friday but as the day went on the more apprehensive I got about the injection . I have heard so many horror stories from friends and also reading things online . ( Dawn's side note" DON'T read stuff online ) .
I can not express how scared I was to do this injection. I know my hubby was a tad been concerned too.
I think I was most worried about it being so painful that I couldn't do the injection after the 1st one and my RA doctor said he thought it was going to help me a lot .
I decided to do that injection that evening . I took the Syringe out of the frig for 1 hour before I did the injection and I also iced the area for at least 30 minutes off and on . The time came to do it and I went into the kitchen and hubby stayed in the living room
( I could tell he was nervous for me )
I took a deep breath and said a little prayer and it was done . It seriously didn't sting it did feel numb but after talking with my nurse over the phone I mentioned to her the numbness could have been from my thigh being iced and the medication was at room temp. I am not really sure but at least it didn't sting. the numbness seemed to go away after about 10 minutes . Praise GOD!
After I was done I think my hubby was expecting me to cry and yell out OUCHIE!! i
It was really quite and then when he heard me get up he said ~ is it over ??? I said yes and it wasn't that bad .. Don't get me wrong it's not like I am so over joyed with excitement of the next injection but Praise God it didn't hurt and who knows if it helps me feel better I just may be very excited !
I know this is going to sound even more weird but after this 1 injection I can already tell I am feeling better , not 100 % but much better.
1 thing I noticed too was the Humira injection was so much smaller than my Enbrel injection PLUS I didn't have to mix anything with the Humira . The needle was slightly bigger than the Enbrel but didn't feel any bigger when injecting . I guess my over all experience was awesome . plus I only have to do Humira every 2 weeks compared to Enbrel 2 days every week . There is a injection pen which my RA doctor said he would have me stick ( no pun intended) with the needle / Syringe version and maybe just maybe that's why I had a better experience than others… IDK but I'm very thankful !
- Oh (1) more thing this medication is very pricey .
This week I also started taking Super Beets .
I posted this photo over on my Instagram HERE and I was asked what this was good for . It's good for a lot of things. I mainly was thinking for energy which it's great for that . Even though this photo above looks like I'm a vampire drinking blood … It's actually really good even hubby said ~wow that's not bad

Hello Dawn! Love your photo’s of you and your ladies and all the fun you had! Love the cards everyone made too! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on injecting the Humira. It was very interesting and I googled it to see what it was all about! I have OA in my hips, thumbs and tail bone and you are so right about being careful about reading about medical stuff on the ‘net! It can be so scary and not always true! Good luck with the Humira and I look forward to reading if it helps you – I hope it does!
Love your blog and look forward to seeing what you have all been up to – it’s very inspiring!
Thanks for sharing,
Sunshine, New Zealand
I enjoyed your recount of the Glitter Queen’s retreat. It sounds so great and so very glad your new medicine is going well. Thank you for the cute video. Such a delight!
Hi Dawn,
I enjoy your site and like to look at your cards. Just thought I’d tell you about Dr. Josh Axe. If you look him up on line I think you can get off all your medications with his help. Just look around the site, he is a doctor of natural medicine. Hope this helps, Sincerely, Candy Gardner, fellow stamper
