Here is a birthday card I made over the weekend . I used the Build a Birthday stamp set # 138646 .
Here are the colors I used to build the birthday cake .
- Watermelon Wonder classic ink # 138323
- Mint Macaron classic ink # 138326
- Pool Party classic ink # 126982
I stamped off on a couple of the Watermelon Wonder layers to make it a lighter shade .
The Base of my card is Whisper White # 100730
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" .
I cut the Watermelon Wonder card stock # 138334
- 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
to layer perfectly on top of the Whisper White base.
I have been noticing a new trend lately with not cutting the top layer of cards down by a 1/4" or even a 1/8"… just layer on top to cover the full card front ~ Pretty cool huh?
I also added some sparkle with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper #135315 and punched Stars out with the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack #133787.
I wanted to let you know if you are viewing my daily blog post from an I Pad or other mobile device I have heard many of you are seeing my blog post off center towards the right hand side . We are currently working on fixing this

It’s not just on a mobile devise. I’m on my IMac and your blog columns are off kilter. Same with the Mac Book Pro. Maybe it’s Apple devices?

Cute. But I’m confused about your comment about layering. So, you’re saying that ppl are making a full-sized card front and then putting it on top of a card? That seems odd. I am pushing for saving paper by using punches and dies on your layering paper to use as much of it up as you can before using it as a layer.

S.Carter, Yes that’s the new trend . I kinda think of it as a way to not have to add another layer on the inside as well for the greetings …if this would have been a watermelon wonder card stock base card I would have layered on the inside with a piece of White card stock for the greetings . I didn’t create this trend I was just showing what I have been seeing a lot of lately on Pinterest and else where . It’s up to you on what and how you want to layer Just showing other options that’s all 🙂
