Today we will be making this amazing card .
we will be using the technique called Joseph’s Coat which has been around for many years .
I personally think of Joseph’s coat of many colors and maybe that’s the original idea for naming it this .
It’s such a fun and simple technique
PLUS using the new Sponge Brayers # 141714 makes it really easy You could use your sponges or sponge daubers BUT with the Sponge Brayers it makes it even simpler and really quick since you want the finished front to have a really dark background the the Sponge Brayers make that part really easy .
Dawn’s Side note :
The Sponge Brayers # 141714 are brand new in the Annual catalog and the package comes with (2) handles and (4) sponge rollers . The sponges clean up very easily too.
We will be using the beautiful Paisleys & Posies stamp set # 142196
Every time I make this type of card using this technique it’s like magic the way the images appear right before our eyes .
I really wanted to keep the card front simple since the color and images really pop so I put the greeting on the inside and just tied a ribbon around the front .
Here are the measurements of the card :
Whisper White card stock # 100730

Joseph’s Coat Technique
Just beautiful!
I have never seen this technique before but this card is awesome. It shows you are never too old to learn something new.
Thanks again Dawn.
They look absolutely gorgeous. Those background colours really pop. Thanks for bringing out an old technique, which certainly gives a hefty impact.
Love that technique and it is a gorgeous fall card.
An awesome Fall card! I love this technique!
Beautiful card, love the technique. TFS!
Absolutely beautiful card Dawn! I’ve heard of this technique but never seen it done. Easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for sharing!
Very pretty card and really like the technique. Tfs
What a fun technique. It reminds me of a art project I did, with crayons, when I was in grade school. The cards are beautiful. TFS
Brought back memories of making something similar in school. Coloring the paper with different colored crayons and them covering it with a layer of black crayon. Afterwards you would scratch a design with a toothpick. Can’t wait to give it a try.
This card is GORGEOUS! Thank you VERY much for sharing!
I think this is one of the most beautiful of the resist techniques! The paisley stamps are a great choice for this technique. I think keeping the rest of the card simple really showcases the colors tfs. Have a great weekend and a Happy ( and safe ) Halloween. Safe travels as well!
Love the colors and design you chose for this technique ~ beautiful card!

Dawn, I like the Joseph’s Coat technique and the Paisley Posies bundle. Paisley is one of my all time favorites. I will be making this card real soon. Thanks so much for sharing you your God given talent with us
Fun and oh so pretty. I have done this before using leaf stamps but that was a long time ago. I think I need to try this again and use fall colors of ink. It was in a class and we used rainbow colors and some of the colors didn’t translate well into leaves. Thanks for the reminder to try this again.
I love the stage show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat. This card is an awesome tribute to this show.
Pretty Fall card!!!

My new favorite technique. Simply beautiful! How do you determine what color combos can be used for a technique like this. Would love to hear your input.
